Just Had To........

I was browsing through some old photos of Christmas past and I just had to share this photo. Yep its the kid in the last post with the same Mickey Mouse. I think Zach was about five years old in this shot. It seems like yesterday when this kid was....... I better stop he's already going to kill me for posting the photo. I hope you all can find the time during the holidays to find a little quiet time to reminisce. Maybe look at a few photos or those old videos of Christmas past. See the joy and excitement on our faces as children and then to see the same expressions on our own children. It truly does a heart good. Merry Christmas!!

Christmas Card Reject

Every year Zach and I put out our annual Christmas card. This year I wanted to do something outside with all the snow. Wait, there was no snow. Then I was thinking of a cool shot hanging the lights but forgot to bring the camera out. Good thing that I did. I think the camera would have picked out the stressed out father/Son activity. I do not like heights and I'm starting to dislike lights as well! So we came up with the one we sent out. The photo on the card was not the original one picked. The one above was. Zach had a better smile and it was just right. Until we noticed that Mickey was not cooperating at all. Yeah we had a good laugh as I hope you can see the humor in it. Please before you make any calls to Disney we did get Mickey's head back on and he is doing just fine.

Christmas Concert

The Christmas concert was wonderful and we in the audience thoroughly enjoyed the night of music. In the previous concerts, Zach always sat in the back on the left side with his fellow trombonist. So I made sure I was in a good position to watch and tape. Well Murphy's Law was in effect and they moved the trombones to the middle back. My view of Zach was blocked by the Music Director. Oh well at least the 7ft tall blonde women who sat down in front of me moved! The clip above was a tough piece for the kids to play. It was a medley of Christmas songs and they did a great job blending them together.

Bad, Bad Weekend For Football

Well it really was a horrible weekend for our teams. The Jets loss to the 49ers and the Redskins well I ... just don't want to talk about it. At least Zach's team is still in first and the Skins.... I really don't think much of their offense or defense and our Coach better start working with his Quarterback. The only good news was the Cowboys loss to the Steelers! Sorry Sis..

Saturday Zach and I were busy putting up the outside Christmas lights. Were almost done need a few more then will add some photos and video.

Well its that time of the year to get the home in the Christmas Spirit. Zach and I went to work on the front window. We changed the theme from Santa's workshop to Snowman at play in the desert.

He meaning Zach was trying to tell me that he was scared of heights so I was stuck last year putting up all the outdoor lights by myself. Well as you can see from the video he has no fear at all in fact he looks pretty calm and cool up there. So...... Guess who's getting up on the roof this year...... That's right the Rock Star himself !!!!

The finished job!! I think it came out pretty nice. Sorry for the red light bouncing around while I was taking the videos I had night shot on and well you can see the result. Oh yeah I guess I was confused what year it was. Just looking forward to Christmas 2009.

Thanksgiving 2008

I figured that you all really didn't want to see a video of the thanksgiving food or of us sitting around the table chowing down on the great dinner. Yes it was delicious all of it. So I thought the above video would be more appreciated. The kitchen clean and shut down for the night, save for the various trips for pie and yes maybe a another slice of ham.

Wonderful Weekend For Our Teams

What a great weekend for us. First the Penn State victory and a trip to the Rose Bowl. And today both of our teams won! "Zach's "New Team" Jets sent the undefeated Titans to the showers. Brett had a big game and it makes you wonder how the Packers are feeling...a little regret maybe........ Redskins had a tougher fight but a W in the Win/Loss column is all that matters. Hope you all's favorite teams won, Have a great week!

Penn State Rose Bowl Bound!!!!!

Yep that's right "The Granddaddy Of Them All". What a game for all fans of Penn State!! The seniors wanted this game and they played their best ball of the season. Still a chance that the Nittany Lions can play for the National Title but its a long,long shot. Still a great and thrilling season.

Zach and His Brass

Zach decided to entertain us last night with his Trombone. He is in his third year of playing and is doing well. The guitar that he had to have a few years back is gathering dust. The way he plays his Guitar Hero I thought he would have dusted the thing off and started learning how to play the real thing! Looking forward to his Christmas Concert that will be coming up soon.

Northern Lights ! Oh How I Want To See Firsthand!!

For the longest time I have wanted to visit Alaska and see the Aurora Borealis. Watching them on the T.V and looking at photos are no match to seeing them up close and live. Maybe Zach and I will make the journey up there and check it out. Alaska has been making alot of news lately and truly is a beautiful and fascinating place. Thanks to Sir Knott for the great video.

Glasses for Zach!!

Yep, that's Zach sporting his new glasses. So far he doesn't seem to mind wearing them and they do make him look older and smarter! I asked him if his girlfriends liked his new look............. no reply just one of those pained looks our kids give so well.

Football and More Football

Well it has been a great month for us Football fans in the family. Our favorite college team Penn State is having a great season but suffered its first loss last week. They still have a chance to play in the Rose Bowl if they beat Michigan State next week. My favorite, the Redskins are doing good and so is Zach's new favorite team the Jets. Yeah he switched his allegiance to another team. He did the same thing with Baseball, following his favorite player Pudge Rodriguez. Oh well I guess dad is pretty boring having the same favorite teams since childhood!! So I guess you can say were hoping for a Skins vs Jets Superbowl.
